Top Three Paediatrician in Dubai.

Updated: Jul 7, 2022

Looking for the Best Paediatrician in the City?

Finding a good paediatrician is a must for your checklist because, let’s face it, most toddlers and kids catch viruses all too frequently. Although there is a plethora of paediatricians in Dubai, I’ve selected my top three Dubai-based paediatricians that I particularly love.

Dr. Evelyne Khoriaty

Both my daughters have seen Dr Evelyne since birth, and I particularly love her warm yet very thorough approach to assessing new-borns and children. I’ve seen a few doctors and her approach is very caring and yet meticulous. She’s very informative and easy to approach. Her comforting and friendly character puts you and your children at ease. She’s also very open-minded to listening to different ways of parenting, for instance, being a vegan and raising vegan children, she's not dismissive or judgemental on how I'd like to raise my children and instead she's supportive and finds ways to help with their nutrition. Instead of discouraging the idea she is sympathetic to my personal choices.

In 2022, she moved to Clemenceau Medical Centre, one of the newest hospitals in the city. It’s in Al Jaddaf, Dubai. I really like the colourful, clean, and modern hospital. The waiting area is fun and child-friendly (naturally) with toys and hip and cool arty interiors and colourful sculptures. The reception and team are also very friendly, and management seem very attentive with customer services.

Dr. Evelyne is an American Board-Certified Paediatrician, who received her medical degree from the American University of Beirut. She completed her paediatric training at Golisano Children’s Hospital, Upstate Medical University, New York, and she served as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Division of Paediatric Allergy-Immunology at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. She is licensed to practice Medicine in Lebanon, Dubai, and the United States of America (Pennsylvania State). She is a founder and member of the Georges Nassim Khoriaty (GNK) Foundation, a Lebanese NGO which promotes road safety and ethics and offers free health care delivery and awareness to Lebanese children and adolescents.

Dr. Rouba Abdennour I find Dr. Rouba to be a very popular doctor of choice in the expatriate community. It may be because she is a paediatrician in the very popular King’s College London, Dubai branch, in Jumeirah. I took my daughters to see her a few times because I was told she was very good with children and to be totally honest she has had very good PR in the region. Also, she is particularly active on social media platforms where she frequently shares paediatric and parenting tips. She’s also very patient and listens well to any concerns you may have as a parent regarding your children. She specialises in comprehensive evidence-based and patient-centred care from birth to 18 years of age.

And if you are wondering where in Dubai you can get your child’s ears pierced for the first time, look no further than King’s College Hospital London in Jumeirah. What I also noticed was that you can even arrange your child or baby to have their ears pierced at the clinic. I saw an array of earrings that my 18-month daughter was fixated by. You just need to arrange an appointment in advance.

Dr. Rouba Abdennour received her medical degree from the American University of Beirut, then completed her training as a specialist in Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the American University of Beirut Medical Centre. In addition to her clinical background, she served as a postdoctoral research fellow in paediatric haematology at the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the American University of Beirut Medical Centre and authored publications in paediatric blood disorders, namely sickle cell disease. She is an international member of the American Academy of Paediatrics and is certified in Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

Dr. Yasser Ahmed Negm What I found particularly good about Dr. Yasser is that he is a doctor that stays in touch with patients on a one-on-one basis. If you have any queries, he is a call or WhatApp away, which is particularly good if you feel like you have an emergency. I found him by chance in one of the frequent clinics I would visit when my newborn was eight weeks old and had caught COVID-19. As you can imagine, I was deeply concerned because she had difficulty breathing and had a very bad cough. All my regular doctors, which I had previously seen, were away on holiday, but thankfully, I met Dr. Yasser who put me at ease and instantly prescribed medication that worked well. Within a couple of days, my daughter was certainly improving and not struggling like she was before she met him. Since then, I’ve taken a shine to Dr. Yasser’s advice and methods to help my children’s wellbeing.

Another particularly good thing about Dr. Yasser is that he is constantly updating you on which clinic he is working at. What I mean by this is, he is a paediatrician for a chain of different branches for Medcare across Dubai, so he will be in Mirdiff City Centre branch, Women and Children branch on Sheikh Zayed Road, Paediatric Speciality Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road and Discovery Garden branch.

Dr Yasser has a wealth of experience in gastroenterology. He has a MBBS degree from Cairo, and certification (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) from the American Academy of Paediatrics, with over 27 years of rich clinical experience. He also holds postgraduate specialty training from the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health, London (MRCPCH) and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health London (FRCPCH). He’s an active member and contributor to several medical associations such as the General Medical Council (GMC), UK, the British and European societies of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and a Consultant Paediatrician at DHA.
